I am getting very excited about our retreat coming up at the end of April. This is our first retreat. It all started be cause of a dear friends trip to Big Rapids with her daughter. They were there for some testing for her daughter to enter into pharmacy school. They stayed at this bed and breakfast thatb Patty just fell in love with. While talking to the proprieters of the b&b called the Inn at The Rustic Gate Patty learned that they had facilities for hosting spiritual retreats. Well that is all that it took for Patty. Once she returned home she sent us out an email and we got the ball rolling.
I am looking forward to a wonderful weekend of meditation, yoga, spiritual classes and great friends.
Thank you Patty for your energy enthusiasm and vision.
Well Today was a beautiful day. It could not have been any better for my friend Craig`s Art show in the Cooley Gardens. The Sun was Shining and the People were out to see not only a beautiful garden but Beautiful Glass sculptures against the back drop of summer color. any of you that are familiar with Craigs work will not be surprised by the organic forms and those of you who have never seen Craigs work will hopefully admire how his work blends with the natural surrounding gardens.Craig made the day fun by numbering the Pieces and then passing out pages with the names and no numbers encouraging people to guess the names of the pieces. The show was a one day show 9-5 and was part of a series of grants For artists to do one day shows in various locations around town. If you are interested in any of the work you can Contact Craig Mitchell Smith By Visiting his web site here.
Mark Handler, a Former Associate Director of a Community Mental Health agency offers Tibetan singing bowl concerts, lectures, lessons and individual treatments on the healing uses of these ancient bowls that are played by striking a mallet on the rim. The sound of the bowls creates a vibrational frequency that can be felt intensely in one’s body, in ones energy centers or chakras and creates a deep sense of inner peace and harmony. Handler is also a harmonic overtone vocal teacher (Tibetan style chant). He has studied under Tashi (His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s former chant master), Jonathan Goldman, Yogi Amrit Desai, Lama Lobsang Palden Rimpoche as well as other notable teachers such as Deepka Chopra.
