Bodhisattvas Vow

Easten thought, Meditation, Spirituality No Comments »

I love the ideas presented in the Bodhisattvas Vow and thought that I would like to share it with you. The Vow is taken by those Buddhists who are enlightened as a vow to stay on earth and to continue to incarnate until all people have been released from the cycle of birth and death and suffering these bring to the unenlightened. These are lofty Ideals that many may say are unachievable but like everything else if you do your best to live up to even a portion of this vow then you are doing great things for the world and the people around you.

Bodhisattvas vow

May I be a guard for those who are protectorless,
A guide for those who journey on the road;
For those who wish to go across the water,
May I be a boat, a raft, a bridge.

May I be an isle for those who yearn for landfall,
And a lamp for those who long for light;
For those who need a resting place, a bed,
For all who need a servant, may I be a slave.

May I be the wishing jewel, the vase of plenty,
A word of power, and the supreme remedy.
May I be the trees of miracles,
And for every being, the abundant cow.

Like the great earth and the other elements,
Enduring as the sky itself endures,
For the boundless multitude of living beings,
May I be the ground and vessel of their life.

Thus, for every single thing that lives,
In number like the boundless reaches of the sky,
May I be their sustenance and nourishment
Until they pass beyond the bounds of suffering

Black Tourmaline, A Powerful Cleanser and Protector

Crystal Healing, Metaphysical, Spirituality 2 Comments »

Black tourmaline is a stone that is a must have for anyone working with crystal healing or crystal energy.

Black Tourmaline or Schorl

Tourmaline Comes in a wide variety of colors and like most crystals there is a specific attribute given to each color as well as those to the main attributes of the crystal or stone family. Black tourmaline or schorl is one of the most protective stones.

It not only protects from the negative thoughts and emotions of others, it also clears your own negative thoughts dissolving tension and stress encouraging a laid back attitude with a clear, focused, objective and rational, neutral thought process.

Black tourmaline is a stone of emotional and mental stability. It promotes a positive attitude even in difficult circumstances. A powerful grounding stone, it helps to bring flighty and scattered energies and thoughts into focus. This also eliminates unnecessary energies from our system by pulling it into the ground to be dispersed.

Black tourmaline is a cleansing stone like no other. Many Crystals and stones have the ability to cleanse negative energies and work quite well for those purposes but tourmaline is one of the quickest and strongest stones for cleaning the subtle energy bodies as well as the environment. Tourmaline takes heavy, dense, low vibrational energy and dissolves and transmutes it to lighter vibrations. Just holding Black tourmaline brings about instant grounding cleansing as well as protection from further  dense and environmental energy pollution. You will see the term pollution used in regards to the uses of Black tourmaline quite often as it has a wide sweeping effect that not only effects the body but the surrounding environment as well. While many stones work on the low dense or negative energy given off by the thoughts and consciousness of your self and others  Black tourmaline also absorbs and cleanses natural and man made sources of energetic pollution.

Black Tourmaline  pulls less refined energies such as electromagnetic smog as well as many other environmental pollutions that are caused by the electrical devices and radio frequencies. A  piece of tourmaline taped or glued to a cell phone or computer can help protect you from some of the most common sources of electromagnetic smog. A large piece of  black tourmaline is effective in blocking geopathic stress which is believed to be radiation points due to the stresses from the earth itself.

The effects of prolonged exposure to strong electromagnetic fields have been thought to cause, Nervous system symptoms (e.g. fatigue, stress, sleep disturbances), Skin symptoms (e.g. facial prickling, burning sensations, rashes), Various body symptoms (e.g. pain and ache in muscles), Eye symptoms (e.g. burning sensations), Various less common symptoms, including ear, nose, and throat symptoms, digestive disorders, As well as anxiety depression and panic and uncontrollable irrational fears that are said to be responsible for the belief in some haunting scenarios. Black tourmaline  is one of the stones to top the list as a protection and cleanser of this energy.

Black tourmaline`s most potent physical healing properties are it ability to cleanse and detoxify the body and according to the Judy hall in The Crystal Bible it strengthens the immune system, it treats arthritis dyslexia, provides pain relief and defends against debilitating disease.

Mineralogical Information from wikipediaTourmaline is a crystal silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium. Tourmaline is classed as a semi-precious stone and the gem comes in a wide variety of colors. The name comes from the Sinhalese word “turamali” or “toramalli”, which applied to different gemstones found in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).

of life and things unexpected the two are the same
one an unmapped journey one the path

there is no right course that leads us to ourselves
movement is required to arrive anywhere
stand still and the world moves around you

make the map set a course and follow it
choose your destination and move towards it
blaze your trail so that others may follow
the unexpected is all you can expect
you are the map the journey and the destination

Creating Positive Views to Balance Negative Influences of the Times

James Thoughts, Spirituality No Comments »

What can we do as individuals during these times when so many are struggling and fearful. What can we do when everyday we are bombarded by the media by sensational stories meant to inflict fear, panic, and insight anger? Everyday people are fed this negative toxic information from more and more sources. You may have noticed that it is hard to escape even in general conversations it seems to be all that anyone can talk about. This in and of itself is not a bad thing it would be foolish to not stay some what informed but it is the way that it is presented. There is little to no balance of the positive with the negative. When all you do is talk about the negative aspects and do not look to find the positive (no matter how tiny) you are building up the negative energy in your system and spreading the fear, anger, and in some cases hatred to others.

I know that most of the people that read this article are already pretty mindful of the effects of their words on others and they choose not to add to the negative processes in the world. But I am seeing more and more people unable to escape the effects of this energy. So what can we do? How can we change any of this.

The first things to do is to practice mindfulness of  what we say, what we ingest( take into our minds and bodies),and what we think about. Mindfulness will guide us back to a healthy non-judgmental state. Mindfulness will help us limit our Media ingestion, and help us from spreading this toxic thinking and words to others.

The second thing and this is why I am writing this is to start telling positive stories. Start finding something positive or even neutral to talk about. Talk about the food drive that you helped with, Talk about your neighbor who has such a beautiful yard, talk about the anything and everything that you like, love, and are inspired by. When someone  Starts talking about the “problems of our country” remain silent. Silence is powerful it says that I will not join you in this. Write blogs about tiny inspiring events that are about love and compassion  not fear and hatred.

If you are so inclined write to your local media and tell the that you would enjoy some more positive stories instead of stories about war, poverty, crime, and politics. They may not change but atleast you put it out there that you want something different. Do not settle for this state of negative influence and negative energy. Fight to keep some lights burning. It is sometimes difficult to not wallow in the rest of it with everyone else but if you strive for the best and highest influence you can reach from where you are you can help change the world.
